Press fredoms in EU magnifying glass

EU Commission's draft report on Turkey's EU Progress started to take shape. The most critical part of the report is about "Freedom of Press and Speech". A delegation headed by EU Ministery Undersecretary Haluk Ilicak attended the meeting in Brussels about the subject. The report says, "Guaranteeing of freedom of press is the most important requirement. Our concerns are increasing about the current situation in Turkey. Democracy and the right to expression of ideas are conditions Turkey has to accomplish in any circumstances. Additionally the journalists in jail are another issue of concern"
