Russia appoints new ambassador to Ankara

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Andrey Karlov as Russian Ambassador to Ankara. The Russian Ria Novosti agency reported that Karlov has worked as an ambassador in North Korea in 2001-2006 and former Russian Ambassador to Ankara Vladimir Ivanovski's term of office has ended. Karlov speaks Korean and English languages.
