Russia gets ready huge naval exercises in Mediterranean and Black Sea

Russian Defense Ministry said that Russia is getting ready for huge naval exercises in the Mediterrenean and Black Sea, corresponding the recent developments in the Syria conflict. Commands for the Northern, Baltic, Black Sea and Pacific fleets will join the exercises. Russian Defense Ministry said in its statement that a navy exercise on such a scale was being staged for the first time in recent decades. "The primary goal of the exercise is to train issues regarding formation of a battle group consisting of troops of different branches outside of the Russian Federation, planning of its deployment and managing a coordinated action of a joint Navy group in accordance with a common plan," the ministry said. Warships detached for the event are currently sailing to those regions.
