Scientific American covers Turkey in list of the world's best countries in science

Scientific American, a well-known scientific and technical journal, covers Turkey in its list of "The World's Best Countries in Science - Top 40 Countries." The journal, dating back to 167 years, has prepared the list based on number of academic papers in a select group of journals, number of patents, gross domestic expenditure on research and development and number of science and engineering doctoral degrees awarded. According to these scores, Turkey ranks the 15th in science and engineering and the 16th in the field of gross domestic expenditure on research and development. Furthermore, Turkey takes place at the 38th place in number of academic papers in a select group of journals and the 36th in number of patents.
