Security summit convened in Ankara

A security summit, chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was held at his office yesterday in Ankara with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz, Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin, Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel, Commander of the Gendarmerie Bekir Kalyoncu, National Intelligence Agency (MIT) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan and relevant undersecretaries. A statement released after the nearly two-hour long meeting said, "The activities of the separatist terrorist organization in our country and in neighboring countries have been discussed. Additional measures to be taken in every field concerning our national security were also discussed at the meeting, which reviewed work being carried out in the fight against terrorism."
