Silk road semminar cocludes

The 10th Silk Road 2009 General/Admiral Seminar held at Istanbul's Swiss Hotel The Bosphorus ended yesterday. In closing remarks to the seminar, Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. Hasan Igsiz stated that NATO, founded as a regional security organization, has grown and gained strength to become an indispensible element in maintaining global security. Stating that due to differences of interpretation between NATO and the European Union, relations fall short of the desired level, Igsiz said, "We have to find a solution to these differences. We have to see common required and supplementary efforts from both sides. Nonetheless, there's a long and difficult path before we see tangible cooperation between the two blocs."
