Somali Parliament speaker thanks Turkey for supporting his country

On an official visit to Ankara, Somali Federal Parliament Speaker Sheikh Aden Mohammed Nour yesterday met with Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin. During the meeting, Nour thanked Turkey for supporting to his country on international platforms, particularly the UN. Stating that the Somali places great importance on its relations with Turkey to restore peace and stability to the country, which is plagued by a long-running civil war, he added, "Turkey extends great support to Somali on international platforms, especially at the UN as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, to establish peace and stability." For his part, Sahin said Somalia's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence are very important for Turkey, and expressed hope that peace and stability come to the country as soon as possible.
