Southeast European defense ministerial process in Antalya
Speaking at the Southeast European Defense Ministerial (SEDM) process meeting of 2011 in Antalya yesterday, Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said that developing an atmosphere of peace and stability should be encouraged in the Southeast European region, which should set an example to all other multicultural societies. Yilmaz stated that considering the issue from this perspective, all the problems deeply affecting us would seem to be unimportant. He also wished success to Italy, which will become the term president in 2011-2013. Besides Yilmaz, the meeting was attended by defense ministers and deputy defense ministers from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Moldavia, Albania and Georgia, as well as US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallender.
