Spanish FM promotes Turkish mediation for Israel,Syria

In Damascus on Wednesday to hold talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad and Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos Spain encouraged Turkish mediation between Israel and Syria. "I visited Israel on Tuesday and found they are willing to push forward the peace process," Moratinos told a joint press conference following his talks with Moallem. "I think Turkish mediation is the best option for both sides to find a solution." Spain currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.
