Stano calls on EU member countries for membership talks with Turkey

Peter Stano, spokesperson for the European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule, stated that they welcomed the green light given by France to open the regional policies chapter in Turkey's EU membership talks and the constructive statements made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Reiterating that EU member countries reaffirmed their commitment to "active and credible" talks with Turkey, Stano said, "We believe that a new acceleration would be gained this year."
