The name of Atsushi Miyazaki, a Japanese volunteer who lost his life during an earthquake in the eastern province of Van where he had come to assist rescue efforts in 2011, has been kept alive in such institutions as schools and health centers constructed in the city. This time the Municipality of Unseli, attached to the district of Muradiye in the Van province, decided that a street in the town would be named after Miyazaki. Recalling that a school constructed by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has been named after Miyazaki, Muradiye District Governor Erol Tanrikulu said that his name has been given to a street again in the same town. Tanrikulu said that Miyazaki's name would survive in the heart of people and he would be always remembered as a hero.
