Syria's Assad visits Turkey
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad yesterday met with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a Prime Ministry office in Istanbul’s Dolmabahce Palace. After the meeting, a high-level strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem at an inter-delegational meeting chaired by Erdogan and Assad. Under the agreement, Turkey and Syria mutually relaxed visa requirements. Erdogan also hosted a fast-breaking dinner in Assad's honor.
