Tazegul wins Turkey's first Olympic gold in men's taekwondo

Servet Tazegul of Turkey won the men's taekwondo featherweight gold medal at the London Games on Thursday, defeating Britain's Martin Stamper to reach the final and clinching the men's under-68kg category in the taekwondo competition against Iran's Mohammad Baghrei Motamed in the final by a score of 6-5. Following the competition, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Tazegul in a phone conversation. Tazegul dedicated the gold medal to his mother, who died earlier this year.
