The biggest war archive to be established in Istanbul
A significant work has been initiated on history of Dardanelles Battles, which is accepted as one of the turning points of Turkish history. "The 100th Year Application and Research Center for Gallipoli," which was founded within the Bahcesehir University in Istanbul and planned to serve internationally, aims to build the largest archive of history of war. Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek will be the honorary president of newly-established center. Ercan Ciftcioglu, chairman of Strategic Researches Center of Bahcesehir, Prof. Heath Lowry, Ottoman History researcher, and Haluk Oral, Gallipoli History researcher, will be managing the project. The most splendid activity, namely, the 100th anniversary of Dardanelles Battles, will be carried out in 2015 as part of the 100th Year Application and Research Center for Gallipoli". Ciftcioglu, who is also coordinator of the 100th Year Application and Research Center for Gallipoli stated that they aimed at collecting all papers and documents on Gallipoli Battles. "We will invite parliament speakers of Australia, New Zeeland, Britain, Canada and France which were involved in these battles. The results of initial studies will be announced within three-four months. We will have displayed all documents on the battles by 2015. Researchers from all around the world will come and work here. Activities will reach top in April, 2015. Australian government will rent 10 big cruise ships and send to Dardanelles. 150 people will come merely from Australia," Ciftcioglu added.
