TPAO detects oil and naturak gas in 17 wells

The Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has drilled 57 wells across Turkey this year, and detected oil in 11 and natural gas in six of them in 2012. According to data obtained from the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, the TPAO had planned to drill 54 on-shore wells and two offshore wells in 2012, and finalized the drilling of 57 wells. Meanwhile, drilling in seven wells is under way. The TPAO also completed oil surveys on eight fields in the Southeastern Anatolia Region and gas surveys in the Thrace Region on three fields.
