TRNC President Eroglu: A solution can be found this summer
A memorial ceremony was held yesterday at his grave at Anittepe for the 28th anniversary of the death of Dr. Fazil Kucuk in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Speaking at the ceremony, TRNC President Dervis Eroglu stated that they wanted further reconciliation from Greek Cypriots, adding, "I would never say 'yes' to an agreement that will pave the way for regression to pre-1974 period. We are here ahead of the Greentree summit. The solution is possible, but… A solution is possible until the next summer if Greek Cypriots have their hearts in the right place. We have displayed and will continue to display the flexibility necessary for a viable agreement based on realities of Cyprus. Yet there are concessions we cannot make and certain points we cannot drop back. Nobody should put pressure on us regarding these points. The party that should be pushed is in fact the Greek Cypriots."
