TRNC's Talat visits Brussels

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Mehmet Ali Talat yesterday met in Brussels with European Commission Vice President and Commissioner for Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy Margot Wallstrom. Afterwards, Talat said, “I told Wallstrom that we’re working for a solution (on the island) based on UN parameters and that when we go beyond these parameters problems emerge and grow.” He added, “We also discussed what the European Union should do in order to get results from the negotiations” over Cyprus' future He also said, “It doesn’t seem Turkey’s EU bid will be blocked due to Cyprus issue. This is what reasonable people would do.”
