Tukey and US delegations to convene

The first meeting of the "operational mechanism" which was decided to be set up by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a meeting in Istanbul earlier August will gather in Ankara today. The Turkish-US working group, consisting of diplomats, military officials and intelligence members, will participate in the meeting to plan a joint response to the Syrian crisis. The US delegation will be chaired by Elizabeth Jones, a former assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, whereas the Turkish team will be led by a senior Foreign Ministry official.
