Turkey and Britain sign an information partnership agrrement
Vince Cable, British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, and an accompanying delegation met with Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan yesterday. An information partnership agreement between the two countries was signed by Cable and Caglayan as well. Prior to his departure to Turkey, Cable indicated Britain's interest in developing markets with regard to investments, saying that Turkey is one of these countries and that Britain greatly respects Turkey's successes which were achieved by low inflation, political stability and a democratic government. Cable added that they were impressed by the economic growth in Turkey and that there were many things that Britain would learn from Turkey. Speaking on his part, Caglayan said that Turkish economy was very healthy and that the credit rating agency Standard and Poor's upgrade in Turkey's local-currency sovereign ratings was a testament to that.
