Turkey-Bagon investment and trade forum held in Istanbul
The Turkey-Gabon Investment and Trade Forum was held yesterday by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) in Istanbul. Speaking to Turkey's most prominent businessmen and company representatives at the forum, Gabon's President Ali Bongo Ondimba said, "While diversifying our partners, we see Turkey, which has experienced speedy and strong growth, has the ability to assist us with our needs and targets of industrialization. I want to confirm my commitment to the development of Gabon and I ask Turkish investors to help me to prove my commitment." Stating that they have eased the process of establishing companies in Gabon, Ondimba said that his country currently needed 200,000 residential units and called on Turkish construction firms to make cooperation with Gabon particularly in the construction of private hospitals. For his part, TUSKON Chairman Rizanur Meral said that Gabon offered a great many opportunities in many fields, including energy, construction, aviation, defense and chemistry, which should be seized by Turkish businesspeople.
