Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovinia cement partnership during Izetbegovic's visit

In his first visit to Turkey since being elected to Bosnia and Herzegovina 's trilateral presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic yesterday met in Ankara with President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Turkish deputy currently serving as president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). During the meetings, Izetbegovic and the other officials discussed matters such as strengthening bilateral ties, last month's elections which brought Izetbegovic to power, and Turkey 's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina . Congratulating Izetbegovic on his victory, Gul praised the way the election was transparent and in line with international norms. Gul added that Turkey 's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue, as always. Speaking with Cavusoglu, Izetbegovic discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina 's political situation and its integration into Europe . Cavusoglu also congratulated Izetbegovic on his election victory, saying that as a former head of Bosnia and Herzegovina 's PACE delegation, Izetbegovic will give stability in his country a boost.
