Turkey, Pakistan pledge defense cooperation
Pakistan and Turkey yesterday agreed to further boost their already strong bilateral ties. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after co-chairing the first bilateral High-Level Cooperation Council meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Yousaf Raza Gilani, told a press conference that Turkey proposed cooperation on military hardware and defense to Pakistan . The two sides also signed 18 memoranda of understanding and protocols for increased cooperation in various areas, including health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, housing and the media.
