Turkey, Syria agree on five joint projects
Public Works and Housing Minister Mustafa Demir yesterday said agreements have been reached with Syrian officials on five joint projects. In Damascus, Demir said the projects include water treatment plants, construction inspection, construction, and urban renewal. "We're almost finished with a new deed and ownership registration system for Syria," he added. "Moreover, the Turkish Housing Development Administration (TOKI) and Istanbul Public Housing (KIPTAS) will establish a partnership with the Syrian public works and housing authority, while a Turkish construction inspection mechanism will be implemented in Syria. Another project will build or renovate water treatment plants and construct public buildings in Syria." Deals on the projects will be signed during next month's Turkey-Syria High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, he said.
