Turkey to help Tunisia set up zones
Turkey is ready to share its experience with creating organized industrial zones with Tunisia, Industry Minister Nihat Ergun has said. Tunisia's visiting Regional Development and Planning Minister Jamaladdin Garbi told Ergun his government hopes to benefit from Turkey's experience building organized industrial zones, such as the Sincan Organized Industrial Zone in Ankara. "I dream of a zone featuring banks, a school, a mall, a hotel, residences and an administrative center," Garbi said in Ankara yesterday. Noting that Turkey began establishing such zones long ago, Minister Ergun said that organized industrial zones are of key importance for a country's industrial development. Turkey is ready to share its experiences in establishing organized industrial zones with Tunisian officials, Ergun said, adding that Turkey will initiate a joint project with Tunisia. Ergun also pledged to help Tunisia establish an organization similar to Turkey's Small and Medium Industry Development Organization (KOSGEB) in Tunisia.
