Turkey to sign banking cooperation deal with Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon
Turkey will sign a regional banking cooperation agreement with three of its southern neighbors, with whom it envisions establishing a single market, Central Bank Governor Durmus Yilmaz said yesterday. Yilmaz made the remarks at a conference in Istanbul in an address to bankers from Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. "Under this agreement, trade and investment between these countries will be supported and facilitated," he said, adding that the pact will also complement free trade and visa-exemption agreements already signed between the four countries.
