Turkey's exports rise in september

The Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM) reported yesterday that Turkey's monthly preliminary exports amounted to $11.41 billion in September with year-on-year increase by 7.4 percent, adding that the export growth in the first nine months of the year reached 12.1 percent compared to the same period last year. Speaking on the issue in Diyarbakir in a meeting also attended by Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan and Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Mehdi Eker, TIM Chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi said that Turkey's trend rate of export increased again. Stating that Turkey's export to EU member countries decreased by 11 percent in the first eight months of 2012, but that it has increased by 3 percent in September, Buyukeksi said that Turkey's export to Germany rose by 0.2, Britain by 13 percent, Spain by 4 percent and the Netherlands by 6 percent. Buyukeksi added that Turkey's export registered a growth in its export figures to the Commonwealth of Independent States by 24 percent, America by 19 percent, Africa by 16 percent and Middle East by 13 percent.
