Turkish-Albanian business council meeting held
Speaking after the Turkish-Albanian Business Council meeting organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) yesterday in Istanbul, Albanian President Bamir Topi said that Albania was ready to take all sorts of steps needed to further develop and improve social, political and economic ties between the two countries. Topi said that the Turkish business world now served at the most strategic points in Albania, but the level reached by economic relations wasn't as bright as those in political relationships. Topi stated that there were further bright opportunities between Turkey and Albania and called on Turkish businessmen to benefit from important investment possibilities particularly in energy, tourism and infrastructure sectors. "Turkey, which has taken great steps in economy, now enjoys a strong economic potential. In parallel to this, there is currently an appropriate investment climate in the Balkans, which also applies to Kosovo and Macedonia, where the markets are waiting for investments. Obviously, the Turkish businessmen will be provided with more guarantees there," said Topi. Speaking after the meeting, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tirana Nikolin Jaka said that Turks rank the first in the Albanian market as foreign investors, adding that Albania aims to increase this number with reforms to be carried out an a developing environment of confidence.
