Stating that Turkey's leather exports have increased by 9 percent in the January-October period of 2012 compared to previous year, Chairman of the Leather Garment Manufacturers' Association of Turkey (TDKD) Mehmet Ali Dinc said that Turkish leather companies have also entered the local areas in China, despite the recession in European markets. "The Turkish leather has become a brand in Russia. They even put up a notice on their shop-windows, indicating that they sell not Chinese, but Turkish leather. We need to achieve the same success in Europe as well. We aim to increase our leather exports by 20-25 percent in 2013," Dinc said.
