Turkish Olympiad finals in Washington

The International Turkish Olympiad Washington DC finals have brought together thousands of people in the US capital of Washington. The middle and high school students from the Washington state competed in singing in Turkish, poem recitation and folk dances to represent the US. The Turkish folk dance show performed by Turkish and American students during the ceremony got a big round of applause from the audience. At the end of the night, the team from Maryland became the champion of the folk dance contest, while Alexis Shelton won the first prize for the singing category with a song he has written for his late father. Turkish Ambassador to US Namik Tan also attended the event and congratulated the contestants.
