Turkish PM Erdogan sees $50 billion in African trade

Turkey aims to increase its trade volume with African countries to $50 billion by 2015, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists at Istanbul Ataturk Airport before his departure to Gabon. "Turkey has been exerting efforts in the development of Africa," Erdogan said. In the first day of his Africa tour involving three countries in Gabon Erdogan said, "We will run, chase and get results." Prime Minister's message to African businessmen was, "We can't do it by stopping, we can only do it by working." Arriving Gabon with 300 businessmen in a private jet Erdogan was received by Gabon Prime minister Raymond Sima with official ceremonies. Coming together at an official meal with Gabon business yesterday evening Erdogan, declared 2015 foreign trade goal with Africa as 50 billion dollars. Erdogan said to African businessmen "We are detemined to reach this goal. This won't be attained by stopping; this will be attained by working. We will work, run, chase and get results" Erdogan said, "We are doing 2013's first visit to Gabon. This is the sign that we are taking our relationship one step further. Our government's primary goal is to prepare the necessary legal framework for our entrepreneurs and to foster them for trade and investment. For this aim we put great importance to the signing of economic agreements. In this new process by working much more we will hopefully develop our cooperation in every field and multiply the trade numbers. Our trade goal with Africa for 2015 is 50 billion dollars. We are determined to reach this goal."
