Turkish premier visits Turkmenistan

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a visit to Turkmenistan on invitation of Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Speaking in a press conference at Ankara's Esenboga Airport before his departure for Turkmenistan, Erdogan said that the volume of projects carried out by Turkish companies in Turkmenistan has reached 35 billion USD. Berdimuhamedov welcomed premier Erdogan at Turkmenbashi Airport. Following a bilateral meeting at the airport with Berdimuhamedov, Erdogan and Turkmenistan President attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a port to be constructed by a Turkish contractor in Awaza region. Erdogan stated that the port project will play an important role in rebuilding the Silk Road reaching from Asia to Europe. The project is to cost 1.5 billion USD and will be completed in four years, creating jobs for almost four thousand people.
