Turkish winds in German politics

Germany’s main opposition party, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), appointed Aydan Ozoguz, a German of Turkish origin, as vice chairman. Ozoguz receiving 86 percent of total votes and thus became the first non-German to be appointed as vice chairman in history of the SDP. Stating that she was quite happy to have received so much support from delegates, Ozoguz said that she would from now on deal with adaptation issue and fight against the reasons causing discrimination.
