Turkish women earn no.2 spot at European Basketball Championships

The Turkish National Women's Basketball Team yesterday claimed the second spot in the European Women's Basketball Championships after a 59-42 loss against their Russian opponents. In capturing the silver medal, the Turkish side showed their best performance-ever in an international championship. The title gave the Turkish team the ticket to play in the qualification round for the 2012 Olympic Games. Turkey's Nevirye Yilmaz was selected among the top five players in the tournament.
