Turkmen leader declares Turkey "strategic partner"

Turkmenistan considers Turkey our "strategic partner," said Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov over the weekend. Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, he also stressed common points between the two countries ahead of a planned official visit to Turkey. Declaring Turkey a brotherly country for Turkmenistan, he added, "Historical relations between our two countries, which have been going on for centuries, and economic potential in relations will serve to promote diversification.”
