According to the November 2011 report released yesterday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the unemployment rate in Turkey dropped by 1.9 points to 9.1 percent in November 2011, compared to the same month a year earlier. Speaking at a meeting of the Turkey-South Africa Business Forum which was organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) in Istanbul, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said that the mentioned unemployment rate which was achieved by Turkey in November 2011 indicates how dynamic, strong and employment-oriented Turkey's economy is. Stating that Turkey's economy will continue to grow without losing its dynamism, Caglayan said that Turkey could surpass its growth rate target of 4 percent in 2012 and thus the IMF would revise upwards its estimations about Turkey.
