US consulate general celebrates 232nd anniversary of declaration of indepence

The US Consulate General in Istanbul yesterday hosted a reception as part of celebrations of the 232nd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with US Ambassador to Ankara James Jeffrey also in attendance. Speaking at the gathering, Jeffrey said that US businesspeople and academics living in Turkey help to strengthen Turkish-US relations. US Consul General Sharon Anderholm Wiener stated that President Barack Obama's visit to Turkey earlier this year helped to revive relations with its friendly ally Turkey .
