We are ready to support Myanmar, says Davutoglu

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has begun on Thursday a two-day trip to Myanmar along with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and representatives from the member states of the OIC Contact Group on Rohingya Muslims. During his trip, Davutoglu said that Turkey and Myanmar were very close, despite the geographical distance and that Turkey was ready to support the country which is in a new period of democratization. Davutoglu also participated in the handover ceremony of four tractors which were granted to Myanmar by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA). Agriculture Minister of Myanmar Myint Hla, who was also present at the ceremony, expressed his gratitude to Turkey for its support and added that the Turkish Government provided significant assistance during the challenges they have faced in the Rakhine State.
