Willets impresses by scientific studies carried out by ITU students
British Minister of State for Universities and Science David Willetts yesterday visited Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in order to strengthen relationships in scientific studies between universities in Turkey and Britain yesterday. Willetts also met with ITU Rector Professor Muhammed Sahin and received information from the students who have been working on various projects which are carried out by ITU such as Turkey's first hydrogen boat, the first satellite of the cube, the first solar boat and the first solar-powered automobile. Speaking to reporters, Willetts said that the students' enthusiasm has been evident on all the studies carried out by ITU. "The Research and Development activities recently carried out by ITU, as well its international outlook and relationships with the industry are quite impressive," Willetts also said, adding that he would like to see such a university opening a campus in Britain.
