World farmers day to be marked by TZOB
The World Farmers’ Day will be marked by the Union of Turkish Chambers of Agriculture (TZOB) in a series of events to be organized in Ankara today. A statement issued by the TZOB says that events are expected to be attended by President Abdullah Gul, Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli, Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Mehdi Eker, as well as some other ministers. Following an opening speech to be made by TZOB Chairman Semsi Bayraktar, the problems faced by farmers and agriculture in Turkey and abroad, as well as possible solutions will be discussed. Afterwards, regional representatives of the TZOB will submit their views and demands with regard to agricultural problems in their regions.
