Yasar Kemal to be awarded with Legion d'Honneur

Renowned Turkish author Yasar Kemal will be awarded with the French Legion d'Honneur at a ceremony to be held at the French Palace in Istanbul tomorrow. Kemal will be presented his award by Great Chancellor of the French national order of Legion d'Honneur Gen. Jean-Louis Georgelin. The award symbolizes respect for Kemal's contributions to cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, as well as humanism in his works.
