Yildirim presented award in the 60th congress of UITP

Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim was granted the Political Vision and High-Level Support Award in Mass Transportation as part of the 60th Congress of International Association of Public Transport (UITP). Yildirim was welcomed by Switzerland's Transportation Minister Doris Leuthard and Secretary General of UITP Alain Flausch in a ceremony upon his arrival in the congress meeting in Geneva.  Following the speeches at the congress, Yildirim was presented the award. Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Yildirim expressed gladness over participating in the congress and thanked for the award. In his speech, Yildirim mentioned Turkey's efforts regarding the Marmaray, high-speed train and the 3rd bridge projects, adding that the politicians and administrators should develop their transportation infrastructures not for vehicles, but for people. During the congress, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality also received an award for its success in implementing public transportation projects.
