Speaking at the opening ceremony of a shopping center in Kayseri, Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said yesterday that France was about to commit a political sin, but that the newly-maturing Turkish-French relations in energy sector currently might not be capable of carrying this. Stating that Turkey will remain as one of the most reliable castles of entire international capital thanks to its legal system, stronger foundations and sustainable stability, Yildiz said, "In 2011, the direct foreign investment made in Turkey amounted to approximately 12.5 billion American dollars, among which 3.5 billion American dollars were invested in energy sector. For example, the work we have been conducting with regard to nuclear power plants has been lately strengthened with transfer of 700 million American dollars from Russia. All these projects are useful in terms of strengthening relations between such countries."
