Davutoglu: "Turkey closely following Roj TV probe

Turkey's foreign minister said yesterday Turkey has been closely monitoring the legal process started against Roj TV on charges that it broadcast programs encouraging terrorism. "Recent developments have shown that terrorism is a crime of humanity," Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said while speaking at a joint news conference with his Danish counterpart Lene Espersen. The Danish foreign minister said the decision to shut down TV stations is independent of a political system in Denmark and that there is no way the government can interfere in these decisions, when asked why the station is still broadcasting. He said he thinks a court hearing will take place in August of this year and that the judges will decide whether or not to close the media institution.
