Erdogan warns Assad that intl community could move against him

In a telephone conversation this week with Syrian President Bashar Assad, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned him that developments in Syria have damaged its image and that the international community could take action against him. Assad had called Erdogan to congratulate him on winning a historic third term in Sunday's general elections. Erdogan, virtually the only leader to have continued consultations with Assad as conditions in Syria deteriorate, urged him to stop his violent crackdown and speed up much-needed reforms to meet the demands of the people.
