IMF's Mark Lewis predicts falling unemployment

Unemployment in Turkey should continue to drop as the country's growing economy keeps creating more room for new entries in its labor market, International Monetary Fund Turkey Director Mark Lewis said yesterday. Speaking at a conference in Istanbul, Lewis praised Turkey's success in the fight against joblessness, which hit 15 percent in 2009 due to the global economic crisis, reported the Anatolia news agency. Alongside 8.9 percent economic growth last year, the unemployment rate dropped to 11.4 percent.
