Ricciardone: We are hopeful about peace

US Ambassador to Ankara Francis Ricciardone visited Governor Cahit Kirac in Diyarbakir and travelled around the historical and touristic sights of the city on Wednesday. Walking around the streets of the city, Ricciardone attached badges bearing US and Turkish flags to the collars of children he met. Commenting on a question about the solution process, Ricciardone said, Diyarbakir can be very appealing to tourists and investors. It will have a higher appeal now with the hope for peace. Hopefully, peace will meet its deep roots in the coming weeks and months. Hopefully, these clashes will be something of the past, and there will be peace and stability in the future. I have seen great hope and will in everyone. Everybody is hopeful for peace, so are we."
