Spanish festival starts with Turkish melodies

Barcelona’s most famous art and culture festival, La Merce, which was held for the first time in 1902, started on Wednesday with songs about Istanbul, which is the festival's guest of honor. The Istanbul Greater Municipality Choir of Civilizations performed traditional songs at the opening of the festival. A large number of Turkish performers will take part in the festival, which ends on Sunday.
