Syrian opposition leaders will hold a three-day conference in the Turkish Mediterranean city of Antalya next week to support protests against the regime of President Bashar Assad. "The conference will be open to all supporters of the opposition, independent figures, and representatives of all faiths," Ammar Qurabi, head of the Egypt-based National Organization of Human Rights, which is organizing the conference, told Agence France-Presse. His statement referred to a group of reformers who called for democratic changes in 2005 under a statement known as the Damascus Declaration. Participants in the conference will gather in Antalya starting next Tuesday "in support of the revolt in Syria and claims of the Syrian people," said Qurabi.
