In Poland, Chief EU Negotiator Bagis meets with Lech Walesa

Chief European Union Talks Negotiator Egemen Bagis, currently in Poland, yesterday met with former Polish President Lech Walesa. Also at the meeting, which was held at a foundation established on Walesa's behalf, were Turkey's EU Secretariat General head Volkan Bozkir and Turkish Ambassador to Warsaw Resit Uman. Calling Turkey an essential part of Europe, Walesa said Europe is inconceivable without it. Stating that he supports and believes in Turkey's EU bid, Walesa said that he will continue to defend this stance even if some disagree.
