Police celebrate 163rd anniversary

The Turkish Police Organization yesterday celebrated its 163rd anniversary. Speaking at a ceremony in Ankara, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised police officers for their recent successful operations. He also warned them to resist any provocations meant to disturb peace and public order. Also addressing the gathering, Interior Minister Besir Atalay said that there was no tolerance for torture or mistreatment.
